India is reportedly expected supply an additional power of 80 MW to Nepal from 1st January 2017. According to reports, Minister of Energy of Nepal, during his visit to India, had requested Union Minister Piyush Goyal for an additional supply of 80 MW to Nepal to control the power shortage in the country. Notably, a transformer was installed by PGCIL, and the electricity will be provided through the Muzaffarpur.
